Where Wisdom is Given Abundantly and for Free

God wisdom

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not… James 1:5

You know that guy who’s intimidating. The one who makes you feel like he’s unapproachable. Maybe at some point he had information you needed, but you didn’t ask him for it did you? You didn’t ask him for it because you were afraid he’d come down on you if you did.

Well God won’t respond like that.

I’ve read James 1:5 at least a dozen times, but I never saw it until this morning. What it says is that God will never come down on you when you ask Him for wisdom.

So ask Him.

God was pleased when Solomon asked for wisdom. He’ll be pleased when you do too.

“Now, Lord my God, you have made your servant king in place of my father David. But I am only a little child and do not know how to carry out my duties. Your servant is here among the people you have chosen, a great people, too numerous to count or number. So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?”

The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. 1 Kings 3:7-10

  1. I’ll never forget the day I asked; don’t know the date, but I know it was in church many moons ago in the 80s. And He has been graciously pouring forth wisdom ever since because He loves to lavish His children with the best He has to offer while we wait for His return. His storehouse of wisdom never closes; it’s available night and day, anytime we ask, seek, and knock.
Amazing insights come into my mind through His Spirit when I study His wonderful wise Words, and then, instead of hoarding it all to myself, I share.
Godly wisdom is for the sharing, especially the elder who has the life experience. That father or mother in the faith can help many a youngin’ only if they’d ask!
    Blessings for your faithful work!
