I also have been following your blog for about 2 years. I was in quite an abyss during this time and when I found your blog, I was piqued by the interesting name, “G-d Running”. Your words and thoughts on the biblical word as well as comments on current society in general has has been a pleasant experience to read. I lost my father unexpectedly some years ago, and the verse that has brought much comfort over the years and has helped ease the pain is Ecclesiastes 3:1-8:
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

We are all allotted a certain time here. To enjoy and love those those around us, and be equally as patient during times of rain or times of famine in our lives. For the Lord restores all, no matter how profoundly painful and never-ending the loss may feel. There is light ahead in the darkness and He will always bring you to the other side.

Kurt, I don’t know you, but I’ve been reading your post since 2013. I look forward to reading them all. This post, even though I do not understand the details, has left my heart heavy. I want you to know that I will be praying you will, with each day that goes by, find comfort even when things seem dark and dreadful. John 11: 25-26
Thank you Tina. Can I ask that you especially remember my wife Kathy? It was her mom that passed away. So she’s the one with the biggest burden of grief. I so appreciate your prayers!
