“He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:11-13
Women Are More Amazing Than Men
Women are amazing, aren’t they? I mean, they have an ability no man has. They have the ability to give life. They can birth children into the world and if you think about it, that’s spectacular. That’s mind boggling. Men play their part but their part is, well–not nearly as impressive. What women do, the whole process, from conception to birth, it’s mind blowing. I’ve heard it said that women are superior to men for this reason alone. I see women as different from but equal to men. But still, the whole life giving thing, it’s awe-inspiring.
A woman starts with an act of love and ends with a new life born. Women are life givers.
What Jesus And Women Have In Common
Jesus and women have that in common. Women start with, and Jesus started with, an act of love. Women end with, and Jesus ends with, a new life born. Women give birth to children of men. Jesus gives birth to children of God.
“In him was life, and the life was the light of men.” (John 1:4)
Jesus the Light doesn’t just give light, in him is life.
Last post from the gospel of John we saw that Jesus was rejected by most. We saw that “He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him.”
And then immediately following that statement is the word “But.”
But to all those who receive him, Jesus the Light gives Life. God’s life. All who receive him are born as children of God.
Receive him, and receive a whole new life.
