Things I Heard In Church: Without Relationships, You Can’t Realize Your Gifts

From my notes on yesterday’s excellent teaching by Curtis Zeigler.

Without relationships, you can’t realize the gifts of the Spirit. The gifts of the Spirit can’t be exercised in isolation.

If you study the gifts of the Spirit anywhere they’re mentioned in the Bible, you’ll find that every gift (with one possible exception) requires at least one other human being in order to be realized. (See 1 Corinthians 12)

You can’t live your life in God’s Spirit alone.

I mean, think about it: Jesus said you and I are to be known by our love for one another. How can that happen in isolation? (John 13:35)

“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” 2 Timothy 1:6
