God Running is a place for anyone who wants to love Jesus more deeply, follow Jesus more closely, and love people the way Jesus wants us to.

It was Friday, September first. For more than a dozen years now, I’ve published a blog post every Saturday morning, which usually means on Friday, I’m at the keyboard, writing that blog post. Except for last Friday, one week ago, at the time of this writing. About a week ago on Friday September first, I didn’t write a word.

And here’s the weird thing.

I didn’t even realize it until Saturday evening.

I didn’t realize it because increasingly, I’m becoming less concerned about writing, and more concerned about actually doing what I’m writing about, which is, in essence, loving like Jesus loved.

Last Friday was one of the best Fridays of my life. God has given me a couple of really difficult things to do in order to love some specific people the way He wants me to love them. One way in which He’s directed me to love has challenged me and stretched me in ways I never imagined.

It’s been so hard.

It’s been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do in my entire life.

But if you’ve followed Jesus for awhile, you know the hard things can also be the most fulfilling things.

And last Friday, I was so absorbed with the work of loving a few certain people in my life, in these specific ways God is leading me to love, I never even noticed I forgot to write a blog post until the next day.

And that’s a good thing.
