A Way To Learn From The Best Book
Today I’m writing about the new release of my book Love Like Jesus, but first I want to mention something that’s had a big impact on me recently. My church congregation is reading through the Bible this year, something I’ve done before, but this time we’re using an app called ReadScripture. The app includes short videos from the BibleProject, and I’ve found these videos to be very helpful in understanding some of the Old Testament books like Numbers and Deuteronomy.
Anyway, I just wanted to share that with you because, of course, the best book is God’s book: The Bible. And the ReadScripture app is helping me to get into His word. I thought I’d mention it in case you’re interested.
Love Like Jesus Book Newly Released
So, finally, at long last, Love Like Jesus the book, is available on Amazon and at brick and mortar bookstores (you have to order it at physical book stores like Barnes&Noble, it’s not on the shelf).
I’ve mentioned before about how I’m terrible at marketing. So, after Googling around a bit, I gave up — and hired a coach. Her name is Anna LeBaron and she has a long list of famous authors she’s helped with marketing. The list even includes two of my heroes Bob Goff and Ben Courson. Kathy and/or I have spent five hours with her talking on the phone, which officially makes us experts. OK, so we’re far from experts, but what Anna shared with us is super helpful.
It turns out the most important part of getting the word out about Love Like Jesus is the Amazon book review. When I thought about this, it made sense. I won’t buy anything from Amazon unless I see it’s received a bunch of ratings. Maybe you’re the same.
I’m a little guy in the book publishing world, so, these reviews make a huge difference. With Anna’s wisdom in mind, if you want to do me a big favor, buy a copy of Love Like Jesus from Amazon (the Kindle version is only $1.99), read it, and then write an honest two sentence review on Amazon. According to Anna, the more reviews, the more people will read Love Like Jesus. (Reviews on Goodreads aren’t as important as Amazon but still helpful.)
The motivation here is to spread the message. We’ve already decided to donate any profit to Bob Goff’s Love Does organization or some other worthy charity. So money isn’t the incentive. I want to get the word out because I believe in the message of the book and just want to see it in the hearts and minds of as many as possible.

Amen.

Love Like Jesus: How Jesus Loved People (and how you can love like Jesus)
Love Like Jesus begins with the story of how after a life of regular church attendance and Bible study, Bennett was challenged by a pastor to study Jesus. That led to an obsessive seven year deep dive. After pouring over Jesus’ every interaction with another human being, he realized he was doing a much better job of studying Jesus’ words than he was following Jesus’ words and example. The honest and fearless revelations of Bennett’s own moral failures affirm he wrote this book for himself as much as for others.
Love Like Jesus examines a variety of stories, examples, and research, including:
- Specific examples of how Jesus communicated God’s love to others.
- How Jesus demonstrated all five of Gary Chapman’s love languages (and how you can too).
- The story of how Billy Graham extended Christ’s extraordinary love and grace toward a man who misrepresented Jesus to millions.
- How to respond to critics the way Jesus did.
- How to love unlovable people the way Jesus did.
- How to survive a life of loving like Jesus (or how not to become a Christian doormat).
- How Jesus didn’t love everyone the same (and why you shouldn’t either).
- How Jesus guarded his heart by taking care of himself–he even napped–and why you should do the same.
- How Jesus loved his betrayer Judas, even to the very end.
With genuine unfiltered honesty, Love Like Jesus, shows you how to live a life according to God’s definition of success: A life of loving God well, and loving the people around you well too.
A life of loving like Jesus.
