But for many people today the word bigot has become synonymous with the word racist and that’s NOT the meaning of the word as used in this article.
When Rules Trump Jesus’ Love
Today a Christian friend of mine shared about a man I’ll call Tom. My friend cared for this man in a group home because Tom had a serious cognitive disability. Tom’s capacity to enjoy life was severely limited: there was just one, and only one, activity that brought him joy and that was Read More

Thought Of You When I Read This Today
I thought of you when I read this today, you my readers, and a few of you in particular. These were the words I read:
“The boundless dimensions of the Lord of glory simply cannot be confined within any human interpretation of his perfection, and the longer one looks at him, the more one sees this to be the case. Yet recognizing this fact, there is no study more rewarding. Limited as our faculties of perception may be, we know that in the Master we have a perfect Teacher.” Robert E. Coleman

Things I Heard In Church: A Primer on Smallpox
The smallpox virus killed 80% of children and 30% of adults who contracted the disease. Smallpox, also known as the red plague, was one of the most devastating diseases in history, until Edward Jenner came along. Edward Jenner’s work changed everything. He made people immune to the virus by infecting people with a virus. He made people immune to smallpox by infecting them with a different pox virus: cowpox. Two hundred years after Jenner, the World Health Organization declared smallpox eradicated.
